EQT Infrastructure VI fund has partnered with EdgeConneX, a leading data center provider, to build and operate high-powered data centers for hyperscale customers worldwide, as announced on January 5, 2024. This partnership aims to expand into new markets and build hundreds of megawatts of data center capacity to support future cloud, AI, and other critical digital infrastructure requirements. Since EQT's acquisition in 2020, EdgeConneX has more than tripled its capacity and expanded into Asia, Latin America, and new European markets. Currently, it operates or is developing 80 data centers in more than 50 markets across North America, Europe, APAC, and South America. The new investment by EQT Infrastructure VI will support the rapid growth of the data center industry, driven by digitalization, cloud adoption, and the rise of artificial intelligence.
