Equinix Reports 6% Increase in Quarterly Revenues to $2.1 Billion, Leases Additional 48 MW due to Hyperscale Demand

Equinix reported a 6% increase in quarterly revenues to $2.1 billion compared to the same quarter last year. The company closed 3,800 deals with over 3,100 customers in Q1 and leased an additional 48 megawatts of xScale® in EMEA and APAC due to increased hyperscale demand. Operating income for the quarter was $364 million, a 5% increase from the previous quarter, and net income was $231 million, a 2% increase from the previous quarter. The company anticipates revenues of $8.692 - $8.792 billion for 2024, a 6 - 7% increase from the previous year. Equinix's CEO, Charles Meyers, attributed the strong start of the year to the evolving AI landscape and the recognition of the importance of digital initiatives by their customers.
