Nokia has been chosen by Telehouse America to upgrade its NYIIX Peering Exchange network in eight Points of Presence (POPs) located in the Northeastern United States. Nokia's IP and optical interconnection solution will enable NYIIX to launch up to 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interconnection services on the newly designed NYIIX Astron peering platform, targeting various sectors in the New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas starting in November 2024. The upgrade will allow NYIIX, one of the world's largest neutral Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), to offer a new, massively scalable, and future-proof network platform. Nokia's solution includes the Service Router Operating Systems (SR OS), 7750 Service Routers, 7250 Interconnect Routers and QSFP-DD 400G coherent optics, along with related professional services.
