On May 15, 2024, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), a rapidly expanding data centre provider, announced a joint venture with VNG Corporation, a leading tech company in Vietnam, to develop, construct, and operate data centre projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This partnership will continue operations at STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 1 and establish a new facility, STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 2, which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2026. The first facility offers a total IT load capacity of 9.6 megawatts, while the second facility will potentially offer up to 60 megawatts of IT load capacity once fully constructed. STT GDC and VNG aim to set new international data centre standards to support Vietnam's digital transformation.
