On 27th May 2024, Singapore-based telecommunications service provider StarHub announced a collaboration with Global Switch, a leading data centre owner and operator. The partnership will focus on Low Latency Data Centre Connect in Singapore, aiming to offer a fibre network with minimal hops and cutting-edge optical technology. The network will provide ultra low-latency connectivity to Global Switch's Woodlands and Tai Seng data centres in Singapore. The advanced fibre network will feature software-defined network capabilities and a quantum encryption-ready network for robust security. This collaboration will allow Global Switch customers in Singapore to have secure, on-demand connectivity to a global network of key data centre ecosystems and submarine cable Points of Presence (PoPs).
