AirTrunk and ib vogt Sign First Data Centre Renewable Energy VPPA in Malaysia
AirTrunk, a hyperscale data center specialist, and ib vogt, an international renewable energy developer, announced on February 7, 2024, a partnership to sign the first data center renewable energy Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) under Malaysia’s Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP). The CGPP, an initiative from Malaysia’s Energy Commission, allows businesses to participate in renewable energy projects in Malaysia. AirTrunk will procure renewable energy from the 29.99MW solar farm that ib vogt is currently developing under the CGPP, with construction set to begin in mid-2024. This partnership aligns with AirTrunk's commitment to sustainable action in the industry and its goal to achieve Net Zero and decarbonize Asia Pacific & Japan’s electricity grid.
