AirTrunk Announces Development of Second Data Centre in Hong Kong with Over 15MW Capacity, Expected to Launch in 2024

June 26, 2023
AirTrunk, a hyperscale data center specialist in the Asia Pacific & Japan region, has announced plans to develop its second data center, named AirTrunk HKG2 (HKG2), in Hong Kong. The facility, which will be scalable to over 15 megawatts (MW), is expected to deliver initial capacity to the anchor tenant in mid-2024. The new data center will be located in a new, major cloud availability zone in East New Territories, complementing HKG1, which opened in late 2020 in the West New Territories. With the addition of HKG2, AirTrunk's capacity in Hong Kong will exceed 35MW. The new facility will be the 10th data center in AirTrunk’s APJ platform, offering almost 1.38 gigawatts (GW) across the region.
