Amazon Web Services Launches AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region with $6.2 Billion Investment
Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region on August 21, 2024. This will provide developers, startups, and enterprises in Malaysia with greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from AWS data centers located in the country. As part of its long-term commitment, AWS plans to invest an estimated $6.2 billion in Malaysia through 2038. The construction and operation of the new AWS Region is expected to add approximately $12.1 billion to Malaysia’s GDP and support an average of more than 3,500 full-time equivalent jobs annually through 2038. The new AWS Region in Malaysia will consist of three Availability Zones, providing secure, resilient, and sustainable cloud infrastructure.
