Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) are becoming increasingly important in data centers for their role in AI processing. Microsoft has invested €4 billion to develop its next-generation cloud and AI infrastructure in France, which is expected to provide the country with up to 25,000 latest-generation GPUs by the end of 2025. GPUs are used for intensive computing applications in various fields and their parallel architecture accelerates calculations compared to traditional Central Processing Units (CPUs). They are used to accelerate AI and Machine Learning tasks, GPU virtualization, video and graphics processing, and scientific computing and simulation applications in data centers.
