February 22, 2024
Global Switch, a leading owner, operator, and developer of large-scale network dense, carrier and cloud-neutral multi-customer data centers, announced on February 22, 2024, that it has received planning approval to construct a new five-floor, 27,000 square meter data center, named London South, at its London campus. Once completed, the new data center will expand Global Switch’s London site to one of Europe's largest purpose-built data center campuses at 115,000 square meters with 126MVA of utility power supply capacity. The new data center, located in London's Docklands hub, will offer 40MW of IT power capacity and will be designed to provide a range of densities from 3,000W/sq m as standard to >5,000W/sq m with liquid cooling optionality. The data center will be powered by 100% renewable energy and designed to minimize power consumption and reduce the carbon footprint.
