Google Completes Data Center and Cloud Region Campus Expansion in Singapore, Total Investment Reaches $5 Billion
Google has announced the completion of its latest data center and cloud region campus expansion in Singapore, bringing the company's total investment in technical infrastructure in the country to $5 billion, a significant increase from $850 million in 2018. The expansion will help meet the growing demand for cloud services both locally and globally. The Singapore cloud region is among the 40 regions and 121 zones Google operates worldwide, providing high-performance and low-latency services to enterprises, startups, and public sector organizations. Google's data centers in Singapore, which employ over 500 people, are equipped with sustainable features, including cooling systems that reuse recycled water, and operate at an average temperature of 27°C for optimal energy efficiency. This expansion supports Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0 and its focus on compute infrastructure to fuel AI-led economic development.
