Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on September 5, 2024, that PT Krom Bank Indonesia Tbk ("Krom Bank"), a member of the Kredivo Group, has built its Krom digital banking service on AWS. Krom Bank aims to serve the 74% of the Indonesian population that remains unbanked or underbanked. The bank offers deposit services with attractive interest rates and robust security measures enabled by AWS. By building on AWS, Krom Bank can rapidly innovate and produce new services for underbanked Indonesians. The bank uses AWS services such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon Elastic Container Service, Amazon Rekognition, and Amazon SageMaker to provide services like e-KYC, facial recognition, and personalized services. Krom Bank is the first Indonesian bank to utilize the AWS Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region to meet data residency regulatory requirements. The bank plans to continue innovating to enhance its customer experience, including exploring AWS's generative AI services.
