Microsoft Opens First Cloud Region of Data Centers in Spain, Part of $2.1B Investment for 2024-2025

Microsoft has announced the opening of its first cloud region of data centers in Spain (Spain Central), located in the Community of Madrid. This new infrastructure, which is part of Microsoft's investment commitment in Spain of $2.1 billion for 2024-2025, will provide Artificial Intelligence and cloud services to companies and public entities in Spain and the rest of Europe. According to IDC, Microsoft's increased cloud presence in Spain could add more than $10.7 billion to the national GDP and contribute to the creation of nearly 77,000 jobs between 2024 and 2030. The new cloud region, named Spain Central, will offer a range of services including productivity, data analytics, cybersecurity, computing and storage, and generative Artificial Intelligence services.
