Oracle Announces $1 Billion Investment to Open Third Cloud Region in Madrid, Spain for AI and Cloud Services
Oracle has announced plans to invest over $1 billion to open a third cloud region in Madrid, Spain, to meet the growing demand for its AI and cloud services. The new public cloud region will allow Oracle customers and partners across all industries in Spain to migrate their workloads from their data centers to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Telefonica España will be the host partner for the planned cloud region. The new cloud region will enable organizations to migrate workloads to the cloud, modernize their applications, and innovate with data, analytics, and AI. Oracle also offers a separate EU Sovereign Cloud with one region in Madrid to help customers with sensitive, regulated data and applications move to the cloud. The company plans to invest an additional $1 billion in Spain over the next 10 years.
