Oracle Opens Second Cloud Region in Valparaíso, Chile, Strengthening Local Digital Infrastructure
Oracle announced the launch of its second Oracle Cloud Region in Chile, located in Valparaíso, joining the existing region in Santiago. This development makes Oracle the first hyperscaler to operate two regions in the country. The new Valparaíso region, Oracle's 48th worldwide, aims to enhance business continuity for Chilean organizations across various industries, meeting data residency and sovereignty requirements. It will offer over 100 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and cloud applications, including Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Cloud VMware Solution. Oracle's expansion in Chile underscores its commitment to the country's technological advancement and positions Chile as a digital infrastructure hub in Latin America. With seven public cloud regions across Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, Oracle has tripled the presence of other hyperscalers in the region. The Oracle Cloud Valparaíso Region is part of Oracle's global initiative to power all its cloud regions with 100% renewable energy by 2025, aligning with sustainability goals and reducing the carbon footprint of computing services.
