Oracle has announced plans to invest over US$6.5 billion to open a public cloud region in Malaysia to meet the growing demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services. The new cloud region will enable Oracle's customers and partners in Malaysia to utilize AI infrastructure and services and migrate their critical workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The investment will provide access to a range of services, including Oracle Autonomous Database, HeatWave MySQL Database Service, Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, OCI Kubernetes Engine, and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite. The investment is welcomed by the Malaysian government as it aligns with the country's New Industrial Master Plan's vision of creating 3,000 smart factories by 2030.
