OVHcloud Launches Its Most Sustainable Data Centre in Singapore, November 7th, 2023
On November 7th, 2023, OVHcloud, the European cloud leader, expanded its presence in Singapore by launching its second data centre, which is also its most sustainable facility in the Asia-Pacific region to date. This development is part of OVHcloud's strategic plan to open 15 new sites by 2024, following the opening of its first data centre in Mumbai in March, with another planned in Sydney next year. The Singapore data centre showcases OVHcloud's advanced water cooling technology, setting a new sustainability standard in the region with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.29 and a Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of 0.30l/kWh. Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud, highlighted the importance of sustainable data centres in supporting Singapore's status as a leading digital innovation hub, especially for technologies like Generative AI. OVHcloud's integrated industrial model, which includes manufacturing its own racks and servers, enables it to offer high-performance, sustainable cloud solutions with optimized performance-price ratios, ensuring data security within Asia's regulatory landscape.
