BYD Chooses AWS as Preferred Cloud Provider for Global Connected Vehicle Platform

November 30, 2023
At AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), announced that BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs), including hybrid and battery electric vehicles, has chosen AWS as its preferred cloud provider for its connected vehicle platform. This collaboration supports BYD's global business, which boasts sales of over 5 million vehicles across 70 countries and regions. BYD utilizes AWS's scalable, reliable, and secure services, such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) for storing vehicle system data, and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) along with Amazon CloudFront for deploying new in-car functions and applications automatically. These technologies enable BYD to offer drivers enhanced safety, operation, maintenance efficiency, and overall driving experience through automated updates and features like voice-activated controls and remote vehicle management. Additionally, BYD vehicles in Europe, including the newly launched BYD SEAL model at IAA MOBILITY 2023, are equipped with Amazon Music for high-quality music streaming, with plans to extend this feature to more models through over-the-air updates. AWS's comprehensive services also help BYD ensure data security and regulatory compliance for its connected vehicle platform.
