IRCAI and Amazon Web Services Announce First Cohort of Startups for Compute for Climate Fellowship

The International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) and Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) announced the first cohort of startups selected for the Compute for Climate Fellowship on March 21, 2024. The program supports entrepreneurs applying advanced cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) to create solutions addressing the climate crisis. The selected startups are Coastal Carbon, Phytoform Labs, Realta Fusion, and Xatoms. These startups will receive a fully-funded proof-of-concept (POC) to develop their respective projects, which range from tracking and measuring underwater vegetation growth to developing compact magnetic mirror fusion energy systems. The Compute for Climate Fellowship was announced in July 2023 and received applications from startups in 24 countries. The next round of applications for the 2024 POC builds is now open.
